Origin : Variety mainly planted in Normandy
Picking date : Harvest time: mid to late October. Characteristics: fruit glazing developing into internal rot as harvest approaches on young or lightly loaded trees
Uses : A fairly hardy variety but very alternate. Its high basity, reinforced by a high number of branches, must be well managed in the first years in order to make the axis rise. Afterwards, it is quite easy to manage. Its yield is average. Note the notorious problems of fruit conservation during the tree's youth (internal rot).
Cider: not very bitter, not very astringent; sensory characteristics similar to Douce Moën.
